Full Pour Review: The 12 Week Year

The 12 Week Year by Brian P. Moran and Michael Lennington was recommended to me by a coworker a few months back and I must admit that so far it’s easily the most motivating and impactful personal development book that I’ve read so far this year 🙌🏻

BOOK DESCRIPTION: “Most organizations and individuals work in the context of annual goals and plans; a twelve-month execution cycle. Instead, The 12 Week Year avoids the pitfalls and low productivity of annualized thinking. This book redefines your “year” to be 12 weeks long. In 12 weeks, there just isn’t enough time to get complacent, and urgency increases and intensifies. The 12 Week Year creates focus and clarity on what matters most and a sense of urgency to do it now. In the end more of the important stuff gets done and the impact on results is profound.

  • Explains how to leverage the power of a 12 week year to drive improved results in any area of your life
  • Offers a how-to book for both individuals and organizations seeking to improve their execution effectiveness
  • Authors are leading experts on execution and implementation

Turn your organization’s idea of a year on its head, and speed your journey to success.”

After reading this book, I truly LOVE the concept of the 12 week year and how it creates urgency with achieving your goals. This book goes into incredible detail about how to implement the 12 week year and how to set effective goals that increase your productivity and execution. The concepts and systems in this book are very straightforward and ultimately focus on improving discipline, focus, consistency, ownership, accountability and more. I also love the additional online resources that are provided as a bonus- Moran and Lennington really went all out to make sure this book was a one-stop-shop for providing all the necessary tools to drive better results in your personal and professional life.

I can’t wait to implement the things I’ve learned from this book and see how it works in action. If you’re looking for a solid personal development book that you will want to reference time and time again and find leaving a lasting impact on you, I truly recommend checking out The 12 Week Year.

BEER RECOMMENDATION: The 12 Week Year by Brian P. Moran and Michael Lennington is best paired with Habitual by Burley Oak Brewing Co. This enjoyable, juicy pale ale is brewed with raw white wheat and double dry hopped with summer and rakau hops 🍻
